Windscreens & Safety Barriers

The VS1 glass curtain wall technology can be applied to serve as a windscreen or safety barrier system to shield occupants of elevated outdoor spaces from the elements. In the cases of the LAX United Lounge and UCSF at Parnassus Heights, terraces are enclosed by VS1 barriers with cantilevered vertical mullions. If desired as a design accent, the glass can also cantilever past the top of the mullions. In addition, operable vents can be integrated into the barriers if needed for window washing access to floors below.
