32' clear spanning facade with sloped roof;
VS1-A110 with 10" mullion and armatures
VS1-A110—which uses pinch bodies and toggle fittings to achieve a flush facade exterior—was selected for a 32’ clear span on this new biomedical campus in Kansas. The VS1 glazing scope incorporates a sloped roof: on the first level the curtain wall encloses an open lounge, classrooms, and studios, on the second level a study rooms and lab storage, and level three a full doctors office, therapy rooms, and an audiology lab.
The VS1 installation, which includes an interior entry vestibule with mullion-supported roof panels, is achieved with the 10” rectangular VS1 mullion and large horizontal armatures.
The ground was broken on this project in May of 2024, with state and local officials in attendance in recognition of the significant investment in the Wichita community. Installation of the VS1 facade will begin in early 2025.
