VS1-A110 lobby facade; VS1-A100 canopy
VS1 was specified for the lobby facade and canopy of the new Eye Institute at WVU Medicine, which will expand ophthalmological care in the region.
The 1,000 square-foot glass curtain wall at the entry will be achieved with VS1-A110, our aluminum mullion system with toggle fittings, which offers designers a flush aesthetic at the exterior. The scope—15’ in height and with 5’ typical module spacing—is accomplished with the 8” bullet aluminum mullion profile.
Outside, a VS1-A100 1,600 square-foot glass canopy covers the entryway. 10” bullet aluminum outrigger mullions span 18’9” horizontally, supported by struts. This approach was also taken at McDonalds HQ in Chicago, IL and Cummins Technology Center in Pune, India.
Innovation Glass is proud to once again work with the talented team at HED, with whom we collaborated to remove existing one-way tensioned cable glass walls at 155 N. Wacker in Chicago and replace them with brand new super transparent VS1-G facades.
