Lobby and "Innovation Center" facades · VS1-A100 scopes: lobby wall and 14' canopy; 26' unreinforced facade
“Franz Safford, and the entire team at Innovation Glass, represent everything we look for in a partner. His engineering acumen is always on display, but never takes a back seat to his passion for great design. I’ve yet to come to him with an idea that he wasn’t willing to help explore, design, and ultimately deliver.”

The new home of McDonald’s Corporation's global headquarters is a nine-story, 550,000 square-foot collaboration between urban campus developer Sterling Bay, McDonald’s, and Gensler architects. Innovation Glass engineered two facades.
The vertical wall and 14'-long canopy above the entrance are both VS1, and the VS1 facade in the building's "Innovation Center" feature 26'-high unreinforced glass walls with all-glass corners and a 6'1" bay space.
FROM THE INSTALLER VENTANA
❝ The addition of the McDonald’s Headquarters to the West Loop will complement the neighborhood’s unique industrial and gritty, yet new and sleek look.
7,400 square feet of VS1 system was provided on the project. This is a point-supported system with ten inch deep bullet-shaped mullions and no horizontals, which allows for a clean, transparent look. The VS1 system was installed on the 6th floor Innovation Center, as well as at the anchor tenant’s entrance at the east elevation of the building. The entrance also feature a unique VS-1 canopy that cantilevers off the VS1 system.❞
